What To Expect On Your Charter

Arriving at the dock, you will be able to park your car within steps from the Snapper Addict II. Once your personal items are stowed, Captain Layne will go through a short safety debarkation spiel. At this time if you did forget something, there is a Ship Store at the marina. After any questions are answered, the lines are tossed and you’re off. Leaving from the mouth of the Manatee River, you’re greeted with breathtaking views of the Sunshine Skyway. At this time, Captain Layne can tell you about the area, point out tourist destinations, or give you time to catch a few z’s if you had too much fun the night before.

After the anchor is set, Captain Layne will have you on the fish in no time. Based on your fishing experience, he will be there to offer tips or give you a full-on lesson on landing the monsters. You can bring your own gear if you want, but Captain Layne supplies everything needed. Every once in awhile, a rogue fish will do laps around the boat. This is where the Snapper Addict II excels because you can fish 360 degrees around her. Not only that, there are ample shaded areas to take a quick break between catches. There is also a full restroom aboard if duty calls.

All great days have to end eventually, so when it’s time to pull anchor and head home, you’ll have time to finally eat the snacks and drink the beers you brought onboard. Captain Layne will ask your crew to take pictures holding the Snapper Addict Braggin’ Board for his sites. Don’t worry if your smartphone’s battery is dead from taking pictures all day. There are plenty of outlets to charge your phone while you post pictures to make your coworkers jealous (just don’t forget to tag Snapper Addict in the process). Once you are docked again, Captain Layne will filet and bag your catch. He can tell you how to cook it yourself or direct you to one of the many fine local restaurants that will prepare it for you. Hopefully after a fun-filled day, you will become a Snapper Addict too.

4 Hour Trip

This is a great for an experienced angler wanting to get away before their spouse knows they’re gone or for a family who has never fished offshore. This is offered mornings or afternoons, and we go approximately three to seven miles out.

6 Hour Trip

This is my most popular trip. Spending an extra two hours on the water sometimes makes all the difference. This trip only leaves in the mornings, and we go approximately seven to ten miles out.
